These descriptions are examples of tasks you may be doing in each role, but may not encompass all possible job duties. Volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Goodie bag prepping: labeling and filling envelopes with event information for each athlete; stuffing goodie bags with promotional items from our sponsors and vendors
Packet pick up: checking in athletes using our online system; walking through the athletes’ schedule of events with them; pulling and distributing athlete packets and t-shirts
Marking field pits: working with track and field officials to measure and mark the field pits with flags prior to pits being painted
Hospitality room: replenishing snack bowls and ice chests; maintaining cleanliness and organization of the room; assisting the officials, vendors, and staff as needed
Track and field clinic: helping set up for drills; moving equipment; assisting the athletes, track and field clinicians, and staff as needed
Swimming clinic: must be willing to get in the pool; swimming knowledge preferred; assisting the athletes, swimming clinicians, and staff as needed while in the pool, and from the pool deck
Powerlifting clinic: must be able to lift 50 lbs; moving equipment; assisting the athletes, powerlifting clinicians, and staff as needed
Sitting volleyball clinic: helping set up for drills; shagging balls; assisting the athletes, sitting volleyball clinicians, and staff as needed
Wheelchair basketball clinic: helping set up for drills; shagging balls; assisting the athletes, wheelchair basketball clinicians, and staff as needed
Air rifle shooting clinic: moving equipment; assisting the athletes, air rifle shooting clinicians, and staff as needed
Cycling clinic: helping set up for drills; moving equipment; assisting the athletes, cycling clinicians, and staff as needed
Archery clinic: moving equipment; pulling arrows; assisting the athletes, archery clinicians, and staff as needed
Wheelchair Tennis clinic: moving equipment; shagging tennis balls; assisting the athletes, tennis clinicians, and staff as needed
Classification (any sport): checking in athletes; ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed; assisting the athletes, classifiers, and staff as needed
Welcome Party: helping set up and facilitate food and activities; assisting the athletes, staff, and vendors as needed
Van drivers: must have a valid driver’s license, valid insurance, a clean driving record, and be over the age of 21; must pass a background check facilitated by UCO; transporting athletes and officials between venues in mini vans
General help: stepping into any volunteer role where we may be shorthanded or need additional help; assisting the athletes, officials, and staff as needed
20K cycling: counting laps and keeping secondary time for cyclists; helping law enforcement maintain course safety; assisting the athletes, cycling officials, and staff as needed
Powerlifting: must be able to lift 50 lbs; moving and racking weights; spotting athletes while they bench press; assisting athletes, powerlifting officials, and staff as needed
Outdoor archery: acting as agents to help athletes pull arrows and score; moving equipment; assisting athletes, archery officials, and staff as needed
Wheelchair basketball: basketball/wheelchair basketball knowledge preferred; officiating and keeping score during games; assisting athletes, wheelchair basketball officials, and staff as needed
Open track practice: assisting the athletes, track and field officials, and staff as needed
5K cycling: counting laps and keeping secondary time for cyclists; helping law enforcement maintain course safety; assisting the athletes, cycling officials, and staff as needed
Swimming: keeping secondary time for swimmers; assisting the athletes, swimming officials, and staff as needed

Track: directing foot traffic; keeping spectators out of certain areas; running and posting results; assisting athletes, track and field officials, and staff as needed
Air rifle shooting: moving equipment; putting up targets; helping score; assisting athletes, air rifle shooting officials, and staff as needed
Sitting volleyball: shagging balls; officiating and keeping score during games; assisting the athletes, sitting volleyball officials, and staff as needed
Track and field lunch: plating lunches; serving lunches; cleaning up eating area; assisting the athletes, officials, and staff as needed
Athlete Banquet: directing foot traffic; pulling medals for the results table; carrying plates; moving chairs from tables; assisting the athletes, officials, and staff as needed
Wheelchair softball: shagging balls; officiating and keeping score during games; assisting the athletes, wheelchair softball officials, and staff as needed
